I am Associate Professor of Statistics for social sciences at the University of Padova. My research focuses on the development of statistical methods to model multiple sources of uncertainty in data representation.
My work centers on fuzzy statistics, with attention to non-stochastic measurement error, latent structure estimation, and information-theoretic methods. An underlying thread in my research is the decoupling of latent information from observed data through both standard and non-standard statistical tools. More recently, I have extended these interests toward text mining and complex network modeling, with a particular focus on integrating structured and unstructured data sources, including survey responses and digital corpora, for the analysis of complex data.
I am affiliated with the GNCS research group of INdAM. In my research practice, I strive to follow the principles of Slow Science, which I embrace as a way to foster deeper thinking and reflection in scientific work.
